このたび開催致します、個展「命のあいだ」では、人間の営みと自然への眼差しが捉える”姿"を作品展示いたします。制作に際しまして、日本画の伝統技法を駆使しつつ、画材として様々な素材を用いながら、独自の表現方法を模索しております。
2012年からアブダビで始めたプロジェクト「HANDS」から展開している「The Flow」(2015)と「HANDS - My Grandma」(2016)をはじめ、連作「老生」の新作を発表致します。
会場となります山崎書店は、学生時代から、先代日本画家たちの技巧を学ぶ場としてもお世話になっている、所縁のある美術書の専門店です。ホームグランドである京都で開催出来ますことを、とても幸せなことと感謝しております。

Kyoto Paradise presents YUKO IMAI's solo exhibition, "Life in Between," in Kyoto, Japan. Imai is a Japanese style painter with a unique method of fusing contemporary and traditional elements.
The spring itself, with its pleasures and spectacles, is an important element for presenting her works, which are always filled with her point of view about life. "The Flow" (2015) and her new work, "HANDS - My Grandma," developed out of her project "HANDS," which was started at a residency in Abu Dhabi in 2012. Also, her ongoing series work, "Living in Aging," returns to Kyoto for a 2016 update.
